Detailed Itinerary From Hue To Phong Nha Cave Tour

In The Morning

6:30 – 7:00: Your driver and tour guide are ready to pick you up at your place in Hue. Then you start your trip to Phong Nha National Park.

8:30: After 1.5 hours of driving, you stop at La Vang Holy Land to visit this famous pilgrimage site for Vietnamese Catholics. Also, it’s time for a short break after the long ride. You can slowly enjoy La Vang, relax, and take some photos.

10:00: You leave La Vang for the next trip. The driver takes you respectively to Doc Mieu Firebase, Hien Luong Bridge, Ben Hai River, and Vinh Moc Tunnels in the Vietnam DMZ. Meanwhile, the tour guide gives you a brief introduction to the history of the Vietnam War occurring in that location.

Please note that the driver only drives through these sites for you to do some short sightseeing. It’s not a complete visit.

11:30: You reach Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. But before exploring Phong Nha Cave, you enjoy a lunch of Vietnamese dishes at a local restaurant.

In The Afternoon

13:00: After the noon break, the full-day tour from Hue to Phong Nha Cave continues. You take a sampan boat to go through Phong Nha Cave on the Son River.

This will be a memorable experience, as you can treat yourself to the poetic and peaceful scenery around you. Floating along the charming Son River, you can relax with the tranquil and rustic scenes on both sides of the river.

You can enjoy the typical Vietnamese natural countryside features such as water buffaloes, limestone peaks, small houses, and so on. Then, when the boat reaches the Phong Nha Cave’s mouth, the boatman turns off the boat’s engine and does manual sailing into the cave.

Now you can explore and enjoy the unique beauty of Phong Nha Cave. You can see special rock formations named “Fairy Caves”, “Lion”, “Royal Court”, or “Buddha”. The tour guide is always by your side to introduce them to you.

After a while, you get back by boat or by climbing the 330 steps up to Tien Son Cave. Here, you can see the remains of Cham Altar from the nineteenth century. This is a good chance to learn more about the rich history and culture of this place.

15:00: Eventually, you return to Phong Nha boat station by boat. Then you go on a 4-hour ride back to Hue City.

20:00: You are back at your place in Hue City. This is the end of the Hue to Phong Nha Cave 1 day tour.
