Cau Hai Lagoon is a large-scale farming and fishing site in Vietnam. Every year, tons of seafood are created here. Here, you can see many squares used to raise sea-creature; it is like a rice field but used to raise seafood.
Every day some fishermen set out early in the morning and return in the late afternoon after a day of work on the water. They have followed their ancestors’ path, and these people contribute to the beauty of Cau Hai.
The Lagoon’s Features
The area of Cau Hai Lagoon is about 11.200 ha and connects to the East Sea through the Tu Hien estuary, also known as Vinh Hien. Unlike Pha Tam Giang, Thuy Tu lagoon, which participates in the structure of the shore and bottom of Cau Hai, contains sediments from the Quaternary period and granite.
The water system in Cau Hai lagoon will usually be fresh water taken from many big rivers in Hue, but it will become salty water in the dry season. Depending on the season, it will have a different beauty.
The Cau Hai Lagoon is like a vast ocean, surrounded by small islands, which makes this place even more attractive. Cua Tu Hien – Vinh Hien is the place for abundant water to pour directly into the East Sea. Looking over the water, you can see beyond that is Bach Ma National Park.
The mountains are printed on the water, making the picture more vivid. In addition, you can also see Linh Thai and Tuy Van peaks, dimly appearing Dieu Ngu tower of Thanh Duyen pagoda.
Cau Hai Lagoon is remarkable because it never stands alone but always has the image of the fishermen working here. The images of people and nature combine to create an incredibly vivid picture.
Not only watching on the shore, but you can also rent a boat and go out with the fisherman to enjoy the scenery. The fisherman will also guide you on catching seafood here using tools such as a net or a fishing rod.
