An Hien garden house in Hue was built in the late 19th century, the first owner of the old house was the 18th princess of Emperor Duc Duc.
The An Hien garden house in Hue was built in the late 19th century, the first owner of the old house was the 18th princess of Emperor Duc Duc. By 1895, this entire property belonged to Mr. Pham Dang Khanh, the son of a great minister of the Gia Long Emperor reign period.
Until 1920, Mr. Khanh transferred the old garden house to Mr. Tung Le, a famous rich man in the area with a benevolent heart. In 1936, the house was officially sold to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chi. After Mr. Chi died in 1940, his wife Dao Thi Xuan Yen continued to manage the house.
Currently, this Hue ancient house is inherited by daughter-in-law Phan Thi Hoang Oanh and four grandchildren. Although it has existed for many years, this garden house still retains the original landscape and ancient architecture.

The entire frame of the house is made of wood with the main truss column system carved with extremely sophisticated ancient patterns. The roof is covered with many layers, decorated with dragons on both sides and lotus flowers at the top of the roof.
